The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) invites applications for the position of Project Research Scientist I under Advertisement No. IRCC/EXT311/2026. Eligibility/Qualification

Essential Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Relevant research experience in:

Required Technical Expertise:

Candidates should have hands-on experience in:

  • Extracellular vesicle isolation and characterization

Job Description

The selected Project Research Scientist I will work on the IIT Bombay research project:

“Rapamycin-loaded Alginate-cell derived matrices (A-CDMs) for Islet expansion and transplantation.”

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and characterization of cell-derived matrices (CDMs) incorporated into alginate-based hydrogels.
  • Encapsulation and expansion studies of islet cells.
  • Molecular and structural characterization of CDMs and alginate gels.
  • Conducting molecular biology assays for evaluating:
    • Cell viability
    • Functional performance of islets
    • Biomedical properties of developed materials
  • Performing advanced microscopy and analytical techniques.
  • Contributing to interdisciplinary research activities related to regenerative medicine and transplantation.

Salary Details

  • Consolidated Pay: ₹56,000 per month
  • Additional HRA: 30% HRA (as applicable)
