Eligibility/Qualification–

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

PhD in Science with a specialization in sustainable processes or materials science.
At least nine years of R&D experience focusing on advanced nanomaterials and metal hydrides. Proven expertise in acid-free, eco-friendly synthesis methods, including direct solid-state and molten salt techniques.
Large scale synthesis experience.
Skilled in operating Sieverts apparatus for volumetric characterization and specialized characterization tools such as XPS, XRD, FESEM, and TEM.
Extensive experience in solid-state hydrogen storage, electrocatalytic water splitting (HER/OER), and gas-sensing technologies.
Experience serving as a Scientist C; or Postdoctoral Researcher, including the co-supervision and mentoring of PhD, Masters, and bachelor’s students.
A strong track record of publishing in SCI-indexed journals, particularly as a first author in energy and materials science.

Job Profile:

As a Scientist specializing in advanced materials, you will lead the development of hydrogen purification and storage systems by synthesizing 2D MXenes and 1D nanostructures using sustainable, acid-free methods. You will be responsible for evaluating performance through precise material characterization (including XPS, XRD, and TEM) and quantifying hydrogen absorption/desorption kinetics using both manual Sieverts’ apparatus and automated PCT Pro systems.

About the project: Strong materials science knowledge, to identify meta hydrides which do not get poisoned when exposed to multiple gaseous mixture where hydrogen can be in difference concentration. Develop the complete three stage hydrogen purification system, which includes simulation, modelling, optimisation, fabrication, testing and integration

Pay Details: Level PR-O3: Salary range (78800 – 209200) per month + other allowances as applicable.

General information: The position is temporary for a period of 1 year and tenable only for the duration of the project. • The appointment is for time bound project and the candidate is required to work mainly for the successful completion of the project.
