Postdoctoral Researcher in Cancer Neuroscience: Umeå University is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to explore how neural activity influences 3D genome organization and cellular plasticity in glioblastoma. This is a unique opportunity within a pioneering research group focused on the intersection of neuroscience and cancer biology.

Eligibility/Qualifications:

To be eligible for this position, the applicant must possess:

  • A PhD degree in molecular medicine, molecular biology, computer science, or a related discipline at the time of recruitment.
  • A strong background in genomics and experience with multi-omics techniques.
  • Previous experience in bioinformatics is highly desirable.
  • Excellent proficiency in English (spoken and written) and effective communication skills.
  • Independent and critical thinking abilities, with prior contributions to productive research.

Note: Candidates who obtained their PhD no more than three years before the application deadline are preferred, though exceptional cases may be considered.


Job Description:

As a postdoctoral researcher, you will:

  • Independently plan and conduct experiments related to neuron–glioma interactions.
  • Utilize genome-wide sequencing methods (HiChIP, Hi-C, ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq).
  • Perform bioinformatics analyses, with support from team bioinformaticians.
  • Work with cell lines in culture.
  • Communicate research findings at national and international meetings.
