Postdoctoral in Physical Chemistry: The Department of Chemistry at the University of Oxford is seeking a highly qualified Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Robinson Lab’s translational research programme, funded by a leading pharmaceutical company. This full-time position is fixed-term for 18 months, commencing on 5 January 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Eligibility/Qualification
- A PhD/DPhil in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Analytical Chemistry, Structural Biology, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience working with membrane proteins (expression, purification, stabilization).
- Familiarity with mass spectrometry techniques and sample preparation workflows is essential.
- Proven ability to drive independent research and work effectively within collaborative programmes.
- A strong publication record appropriate to career stage.
- Excellent organizational skills and clear written and verbal communication.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with native mass spectrometry, lipid–protein interactions, or ligand-binding assays.
- Prior exposure to biotech or industry-linked translational research programmes.
Job Description
The successful candidate will lead experimental studies integrating top-down native mass spectrometry, lipidomics, and ligand screening, defining how small molecules and lipids modulate pharmaceutical targets. Responsibilities include:
- Designing and executing mass spectrometry workflows.
- Developing new methodologies for analyzing heterogeneous protein–lipid assemblies.
- Collaborating closely with industrial partners to translate mechanistic findings into actionable research outputs.
- Contributing to publications, reports, and presentations at national and international meetings.
- Supporting the supervision of junior researchers within the group.
