Eligibility/Qualifications

Essential:

  • Master’s degree in biological sciences or a related field
  • Authorized to work with laboratory animals (FELASA accredited)
  • Strong interest in addiction, particularly cocaine use disorder
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills

Desirable:

  • Experience with behavioral studies in rodents
  • Skills in immunohistochemistry and/or microscopy
  • Familiarity with fiber photometry and handling large datasets using Python or MATLAB
  • Experience in scientific writing and publication

Job Description

As a PhD student, you will:

  • Conduct independent research on Cobenfy’s effects on cocaine behavior and neurotoxicity in animal models.
  • Utilize methodologies such as intravenous drug self-administration, fiber photometry, immunohistochemistry, and fluorescence microscopy.
  • Engage with a collaborative research environment, participate in PhD courses (approx. 30 ECTS points), and develop skills in scientific writing, teaching, and grant writing.
