Research Area

Eligibility/Qualification
- Required Diploma: PhD in Bioscience Engineering, Biochemistry, Metabolic Engineering, Applied Microbiology, Microbial Biotechnology, or related fields (obtained after April 1, 2020).
- Experience in molecular biology, microbiology, and microbial engineering is essential.
- Familiarity with transporter proteins and their engineering is strongly recommended.
- Experience with Komagataella phaffii (Pichia pastoris) is a plus.
- Knowledge of industrial biotechnology, synthetic biology, adaptive evolution, or fermentation technology is advantageous.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
- Demonstrated scientific maturity, independence, and ability to think creatively.
- Strong coordination, communication, and collaboration skills.
Job Description
- Conduct research on aquaglyceroporin engineering and the FWO-WEAVE project “Study and engineering of C1 Transport over Yeast membranes: towards carbon-neutral microbial cell factories (CiTrY).”
- Assist in transport protein discovery and engineering.
- Coordinate collaborations with project partners.
- Allocate at least 70% of your time to academic research.
- Additional responsibilities include mentoring PhD students, coordinating research activities, engaging in education, and grant writing.
