Eligibility/Qualification
Required
- Ph.D. degree in Organometallic Chemistry (main group or transition metal) or Organic Chemistry.
- Experience in organic synthesis at the Ph.D. level.
- Independent research planning and execution skills.
- Ability to collaborate with lab members and the Principal Investigator (PI).
Preferred
- Experience in air-sensitive ligand synthesis.
- Background in Organometallic chemistry.
- Knowledge of theoretical calculations of molecules and transition states.
- Interest in continuing an academic career.
Job Description
The Postdoctoral Researcher will engage in:
- Synthesis of air-sensitive ligands and catalysts (<30g) for industrial collaboration.
- Processing sensitive organometallic compounds using a glovebox and Schlenk line.
- Utilizing organic synthesis techniques for ligand and organic compound synthesis.
- Analyzing compounds and reactions via NMR, SCXRD, GC, GCMS, EPR, etc.
- Conducting high-pressure reactions (up to 10 bar) using pressure reactors.
- Investigating polymer chemistry, electrochemistry, and photochemistry of organometallic complexes.
- Performing theoretical chemical calculations.
