Eligibility/Qualification

Required

  1. Ph.D. degree in Organometallic Chemistry (main group or transition metal) or Organic Chemistry.
  2. Experience in organic synthesis at the Ph.D. level.
  3. Independent research planning and execution skills.
  4. Ability to collaborate with lab members and the Principal Investigator (PI).

Preferred

  1. Experience in air-sensitive ligand synthesis.
  2. Background in Organometallic chemistry.
  3. Knowledge of theoretical calculations of molecules and transition states.
  4. Interest in continuing an academic career.

Job Description

The Postdoctoral Researcher will engage in:

  • Synthesis of air-sensitive ligands and catalysts (<30g) for industrial collaboration.
  • Processing sensitive organometallic compounds using a glovebox and Schlenk line.
  • Utilizing organic synthesis techniques for ligand and organic compound synthesis.
  • Analyzing compounds and reactions via NMR, SCXRD, GC, GCMS, EPR, etc.
  • Conducting high-pressure reactions (up to 10 bar) using pressure reactors.
  • Investigating polymer chemistry, electrochemistry, and photochemistry of organometallic complexes.
  • Performing theoretical chemical calculations.
