Eligibility/Qualification
Required:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Environmental Health, or related fields prior to starting the position.
- Expertise in processing environmental and biospecimen samples.
- Proficiency in liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Desirable:
- Experience in field collection of environmental samples.
- Knowledge of non-targeted analytical approaches using LC-MS/MS.
- Familiarity with high-priority contaminants such as PFAS, pesticides, and algal toxins.
- Experience in exposure assessment and biomonitoring initiatives.
Job Description
The postdoctoral research scholars will play a crucial role in the newly launched Iowa Integrated Network for Science, Information, and Geospatial Health Tracking (Iowa INSIGHT). The investigators will work under Dr. David Cwiertny, contributing to evidence generation regarding environmental factors affecting health outcomes in Iowa. Responsibilities include conducting research initiatives, participating in interdisciplinary collaborations, and mentoring student researchers.
