Eligibility/Qualification
Applicants should possess:
- A PhD (completed or near completion) in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong research experience in translational immunology or related biomedical research.
- Experience with immunological techniques, gene expression analysis, bioinformatics, or spatial proteomics is desirable.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and scientific writing skills.
- Enthusiasm for collaborative, multidisciplinary research with clinical applications.
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct research to identify highly suppressive regulatory T cell (Treg) subsets in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
- Investigate therapeutic antigen targets for antibody-based treatment strategies.
- Analyze publicly available immune gene expression datasets.
- Validate research findings using gut tissue samples from IBD patients.
- Apply spatial proteomics techniques to localize immune surface markers within tissue architecture.
- Collaborate with Professor Graham Lord, Professor Peter Irving, immunologists, clinicians, and bioinformaticians.
- Contribute to the development of precision medicine approaches with strong translational and commercial potential.
- Build an independent research profile while participating in professional development activities.
Salary
- £45,031 per annum, including London Weighting Allowance.
Contract Details
- Full-time (35 hours per week).
- Fixed-term contract from 1 August 2026 to 30 June 2027.
- Hybrid working available, with regular onsite attendance required.
Professional Development
Research staff are entitled to at least 10 days per year (pro-rata) for professional development through King’s College London’s Centre for Research Staff Development.
