Research Focus

The research group focuses on:

  • Biomarker Identification: Discovering pharmacogenomic biomarkers using biobanks and clinical genotyping/sequencing data.
  • Machine Learning Development: Creating advanced computational methods to interpret the functional consequences of pharmacogenetic variants.

Eligibility and Qualifications

  • Educational Requirement: Must hold a doctoral degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Pharmacology and/or Bioinformatics.
  • Preferred Timeline: It is advantageous if the PhD was awarded within the last three years (exceptions considered for special circumstances like statutory leave).
  • Key Skills:
    • Extensive experience in pharmacogenomics, genetic association analysis, and bioinformatics.
    • Proficiency in machine learning-based prediction methods.
    • Highly valued: Experience with population pharmacogenomics, sequencing data analysis (e.g., star-allele/variant calling), large-scale biobank data (e.g., UK Biobank), and structural bioinformatics.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal proficiency in English.

Job Description

  • Primary Responsibility: Principally carrying out research within the specified focus areas.
  • Teaching Duties: A limited amount of teaching may be required (up to 20% of working hours).
  • Collaboration: Working effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative, diverse team.
