Research Focus
The project aims to develop new immunotherapeutic strategies for ovarian cancer by addressing immunosuppression through drug repurposing. The ultimate goal is to translate preclinical findings into clinical studies.
Eligibility & Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- Education: Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Medicine, Biotechnology, Bio-engineering, or a related field with strong academic results.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of cancer biology and immunology; high motivation to specialize in tumor immunology.
- Certification: FELASA B-certificate for conducting animal experiments.
- Experience: Practical experience with laboratory techniques (in vivo mouse models, cell culture, flow cytometry, immunological assays).
- Skills: Strong analytical, statistical, and organizational skills; ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
- Language: Fluency in English (spoken and written).
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience in translational/clinical research or scientific writing/publications.
- Bioinformatics or data analysis skills (R, FlowJo, etc.).
- Expertise in bioluminescence imaging or rat cancer models.
Job Description
As a PhD researcher, you will work within the LTII translational research program. Your duties will include:
- Conducting preclinical in vivo mouse experiments and immune analyses.
- Integrating data for the purpose of clinical translation.
- Collaborating with clinicians, pharmacologists, and industry partners.
- Flexibility to manage experimental timelines, including occasional work during weekends or holidays for animal care (with appropriate compensation).
