Eligibility / Qualification
- Degree Requirement: Applicants must hold a Master’s degree from a Danish university or an equivalent degree from a foreign university (approved by the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science) by the time of application.
- Pending Degrees: If the final exam has not been passed at application time, a statement from the supervisor confirming thesis submission and exam dates must be enclosed. The Master’s degree certificate must be forwarded to DDEA no later than six months post-notification.
- Enrollment Status: Applicants must not already be enrolled as PhD students at the time of receiving the grant notification letter (November 26, 2026).
- Principal Supervisor: The principal supervisor must be employed as an Associate Professor or Professor at the faculty of the Danish university where enrolment is sought and must conduct research within the applicant’s subject area.
- Applicant Rule: Only PhD candidates may apply (not the Principal Investigator). Applicants may submit only one application per call round across DDEA scholarship calls.
- PI Hosting Rules: A Principal Investigator (PI) can host only one active 2/3 DDEA-funded PhD scholar or two-year DDEA-funded postdoctoral fellow at a time when the decision is made.
