Eligibility/Qualification
- Education: BSc and MSc degrees in Physics, Medical Physics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computational Engineering.
- Core Skills: Creative and passionate researcher with an innovative mindset, excellent communication skills, and proof of an excellent command of the English language (e.g., IELTS or TOEFL).
- Advantageous: Knowledge of C++ and Python, along with the ability to perform experiments.
- Residency Requirement: Due to strictly applied EU grant scheme conditions, candidates must not have resided in the Netherlands for longer than 12 months within the 36-month period immediately preceding their appointment commencement date.
Job Description
- Conduct research under the supervision of Professors Charalampos Tsoumpas, Andor Glaudemans, Riemer Slart, and Joyce van Sluis.
- Receive international coaching from the University of Turku and business coaching from Siemens Healthineers.
- Participate in training activities and undertake secondments with European academic institutions and industries.
- Collaborate closely with the 14 other PhD candidates within the PREFERENCE network.
- Register for a PhD with the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Groningen.
- Produce outcomes expected to lead to conference presentations, peer-reviewed journal articles, open-source software, patent applications, and eventual clinical products.
