Job Description
The Research Fellow will be an integral part of the Sethi Laboratory, focusing on understanding cell-state plasticity in gastrointestinal cancer. Key responsibilities include:
- Independently formulating research questions.
- Developing and executing complex computational analyses.
- Collaborating closely with experimental scientists.
- Interpreting genomic datasets.
- Presenting research findings internally and externally.
- Contributing to the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications.
- Mentoring junior trainees within the lab.
The lab utilizes human samples, patient-derived models, genetically engineered mouse models, organoids, functional genomics, epigenomics, and computational biology to investigate:
- How aberrant developmental and oncofetal cell states are established during premalignant cancer initiation.
- How metabolic and environmental exposures create durable epigenetic memories that alter future cancer behavior.
- How established cancers exploit cellular plasticity to evade targeted therapies.
