Eligibility/Qualification–

Education & Experience levels:

Applicants should have Masters with 3+ years’ experience/Ph.D in the area of cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, biotechnology/biochemistry

Nature of experience:

Project or work experience and support of the relevant skills (publications, project reports or thesis work)

Skills:

Familiar with working in a cell and molecular biology lab, with experience in handling protein expression, protein characterization or immunoassays.
Theoretical and practical understanding of ELISA, cell-lysate preparation, SDS-PAGE and Western-blotting. Working knowledge of basic biochemical, cellular & molecular biologic techniques for protein characterization.
Foundational knowledge in microscopy. Highly desired to have experience in cellular imaging or tissue imaging. Candidate should have a thorough understanding of and experience with immunostaining, cellular physiology, histology/pathology and fluorescence/ confocal microscopy techniques in mammalian cell and tissue systems.
Sound theoretical understanding of protein structure, function and biology. Should be able to analyze biological pathway data and has a desire to mine data repositories for current information.
Capable of creating robust experimental plan and can work with cross-functional teams to perform technical trouble-shooting.
Successful candidate will have clear functional communication at work-place and be open to learn and solve new challenges.

Job/Position Description-

About Team: Protein Biology

The Protein Biology team in involved in large-scale functional validation of antibodies, with a deep focus on product quality and specificity. The core activities of team include data processing and mining of protein biology, Western blots with state-of-the-art tools, high throughput and high-resolution immuno-fluorescence imaging, ChIP (Chromatin Immunoprecipitation), gene-silencing studies to provide advance application tags to our antibody portfolio. The goal of the program is advanced product validation and creation of high quality product information to promote research use.

Purpose: – To perform antibody and target biology validation, using state-of-the-art cell and molecular biology methods and deliver high quality products. This role requires the candidate to be rigorous in scientific experimental planning and execution. Fluency in verbal and written communication of results in the work-place is highly desired.

Responsibilities:

Detailed curation of protein target biology that include expression, modification and sub-cellular localization, guided by researching scientific publication and mining data repositories.
Perform cell and molecular biology methods at high level of proficiency. Expertise in protein analysis, use of gel-electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, Cell lysate preparation/western blotting and or other proteomic tools.
Cellular and tissue imaging by immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry/tissue processing and/or other biological imaging methods

Recording results into data sheets and/or electronic note books is a job requirement. Familiarity with use of spreadsheets, retrieval of data from web/data repositories and use word and image processing software highly desired
Delivery of high quality results, attention to details and schedules to support program objectives
