About- A Research Associate (RA) position is available at the Khalifa Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. The successful candidate will study the interaction of gene-specific transcription factors with mediator subunits and long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) with nuclear proteins.

Eligibility/Qualification–

Research group is looking for a highly motivated and experienced PhD with strong expertise in Protein We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced PhD with strong expertise in Protein Biochemistry, particularly in protein-protein interaction, proteomics, and/or protein purification. He/she should have strong troubleshooting skills and a publication record in peer-reviewed. journals.

Skills in microscopy and molecular biology (Plant overexpression, RNAi/ CRISPR-Cas9 vector construction) will be additional asset.

Job/Position Description- 

Job Title: Research Associate-Proteomics and Biochemistry

Job Description:  A Research Associate (RA) position is available at the Khalifa Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (KCGEB), United Arab Emirates University to study the interaction of gene-specific transcription factors with mediator subunits and long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) with nuclear proteins, which is one of the critical mechanisms for mediator and lncRNAs to perform multiple essential functions. RA will be involved in the identification and characterization of candidate interacting proteins using pull-down and co-immunoprecipitation assays, spectrometry, blue native PAGE, and Western blots, followed by yeast two-hybrid (Y2H)-based confirmation and mutant characterization using confocal microscopy. Furthermore, the successful candidate will play a critical role in the identification and characterization of proteins involved in plant-microbe interactions using proteomics techniques.

Salary and Benefits:

Applications are accepted until the position is filled. The appointment is subjected to
renewable each year with increment in salary contingent upon satisfactory performance. The first-year proposed salary is 10000 AED with health insurance.
