Linköping University is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to fill the position of Postdoc in Gender Studies with a focus on critical data studies. The successful candidate will engage in research on synthetic medical data in collaboration with the research program WASP-HS, applying a critical perspective on synthetic data with a theoretical base in feminist technoscience studies, critical studies of AI, data, design, algorithms, and data processing. The position is a temporary contract of two years, with the possibility of extension up to a total maximum of three years.

Eligibility/Qualification: To qualify for this position, candidates must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent foreign degree in computer science, machine learning, statistics, science & technology studies (STS), or a related area.
The degree must have been awarded at the latest by the point at which LiU makes its decision to employ the candidate. The candidate should also have an interest in gender studies, feminist technoscience, and/or design, as well as experience in interdisciplinary work between research groups in the humanities and social sciences and research groups in technology and/or the natural sciences.

The successful candidate will engage in research, primarily, and may be required to teach up to a maximum of 20% of working hours. The postdoc project will be part of the project “Social Complexity and Fairness in Synthetic Medical Data”, which is funded by the research program WASP-HS, and will be conducted in close collaboration with The Bodies Hub at Tema Genus and The Digital STS Hub at Chalmers University. The position requires a high level of English language proficiency and the successful applicant is expected to acquire Swedish language proficiency within two years of employment.
