Job Description:

Postdoctoral Researchers (Drug-Microbiome-Host-Interactions), University of Tübingen, Germany

The two postdoctoral researchers will work on two different projects focusing on the interaction between non-antibiotic drugs and the gut microbiome and how this affects drug efficacy and side effects. One candidate will be involved in functional screens at both the drug-bacteria and bacteria-host interfaces based on patient samples that respond differently to antidepressant treatment. The other candidate will use gnotobiotic animal models to unravel microbiome-mediated drug effects and their consequences on the host.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting research in the field of drug-microbiome-host interactions.
  • Performing functional screens at both the drug-bacteria and bacteria-host interfaces.
  • Using gnotobiotic animal models to unravel microbiome-mediated drug effects and their consequences on the host.
  • Collaborating with other members of the research team.
  • Analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Preparing manuscripts for publication.

Offer:

  • An excellent, cross-disciplinary, and engaging research environment.
  • Access to various state-of-the-art research instrumentation.
