Eligibility/Qualification:
- A PhD in microbiology, microbial ecology, bioinformatics, microbiome science or related disciplines.
- Strong interest in high-throughput screening, as well as sound knowledge of statistics and a scripting language.
- Prior experience with mouse experiments.
- Enjoy working in multidisciplinary environments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Postdoctoral Researchers (Drug-Microbiome-Host-Interactions), University of Tübingen, Germany
The two postdoctoral researchers will work on two different projects focusing on the interaction between non-antibiotic drugs and the gut microbiome and how this affects drug efficacy and side effects. One candidate will be involved in functional screens at both the drug-bacteria and bacteria-host interfaces based on patient samples that respond differently to antidepressant treatment. The other candidate will use gnotobiotic animal models to unravel microbiome-mediated drug effects and their consequences on the host.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting research in the field of drug-microbiome-host interactions.
- Performing functional screens at both the drug-bacteria and bacteria-host interfaces.
- Using gnotobiotic animal models to unravel microbiome-mediated drug effects and their consequences on the host.
- Collaborating with other members of the research team.
- Analyzing and interpreting data.
- Preparing manuscripts for publication.
