Postdoctoral Associate – New Roots: The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Postdoctoral Associate to join the New Roots for Restoration Biology Integration Institute (NRR-BII). The successful candidate will contribute to integrated research and training activities aimed at understanding plant organismal systems and their relationships with plant communities and soil ecosystems. This is a unique opportunity to work on interdisciplinary projects and contribute to the restoration of natural and agricultural ecosystems.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Graduate degree (Ph.D.) in Botany, Computer Science, Plant Biology, Evolution, Ecology, Genetics, Genomics, or Statistics
- Strong commitment to the restoration of natural and agricultural lands
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Record of peer-reviewed publications
- Experience in mentoring early career scientists
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment
- Aptitude for organization and multitasking
Job Description: The Postdoctoral Associate will have the opportunity to work on one of the following general areas:
- Field data collection and analysis: Lead field-based research activities near St. Louis, MO. Apply phenotyping approaches, integrate above-ground and below-ground phenotypes with soil data, and investigate the genetic basis of root-shoot covariation.
- Data synthesis: Lead the synthesis of multi-dimensional plant phenotyping data, elemental composition data, and soil data. Use phenomic/genomic data in a predictive capacity and oversee expertise cores.
- Phenotyping analysis: Contribute to the development of above-ground in-field imaging using a new phenotyping app. Assist with data pipelines, analysis, and implementation of the app across projects.
