Postdoctoral Fellow in Human Movement : Join the University of School of Public Health & Health Sciences at the Massachusetts Department of Kinesiology as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Human Movement Biomechanics. Under the mentorship of Prof. Katherine Boyer and Dr. Jane Kent, you will contribute to a research project focused on clarifying the causes and consequences of age-related changes in biomechanics, with a specific emphasis on muscle fatigue and its impact on movement control and coordination. This postdoctoral experience will provide you with the opportunity to develop technical and professional skills necessary for a successful career in academia or industry.

Location: University of School of Public Health & Health Sciences, Massachusetts Department of Kinesiology, Amherst, MA

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in a relevant field of study (e.g., Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Biology, Engineering, Physics) with a concentration in Biomechanics.
  • Expertise in motion capture and electromyography and conducting human subjects research.
  • Demonstrated productivity in publishing papers and presenting at research conferences.
  • Evidence of the potential to foster a diverse working environment.

Job Description:

  • Conduct research focused on understanding the impact of locomotor fatigue on the control and coordination of movement using motion capture, dynamometry, electromyography, magnetic resonance imaging, and indirect calorimetry.
  • Collaborate with Prof. Katherine Boyer and Dr. Jane Kent in all aspects of the research project.
  • Develop new technical and professional skills to enhance your future career prospects.
  • Mentor undergraduate or graduate researchers, if applicable.
  • Contribute to writing and managing Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols.
