Project Fellow Positions – Centre: Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for Project Fellow positions under the consultancy/research project “Centre of Excellence – Research and development of Ultra Low Head (ULH) and Hydrokinetic Turbines and performance prediction of small hydro turbine model/projects,” sponsored by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (R&D Division). There are four positions available for various aspects of hydro turbine development and CFD guidelines. The selected candidates will be responsible for laboratory setup, turbine design, CFD simulations, model testing, data analysis, and report preparation.
Designation: Project Fellow
Research Area: Mechanical/Civil/Hydropower Engineering with a focus on ULH turbine development, Hydro Kinetic turbine development, and CFD guidelines for Francis turbines.
Location: Department of Hydro and Renewable Energy, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India.
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in Mechanical/Civil/Hydropower Engineering with CFD/design-based work in hydro turbine/pump. OR
- M.Tech in Mechanical/Civil/Hydropower Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in CFD/design of hydro turbine/pump.
Emoluments: Rs. 40,000/- to Rs. 1,00,000/- + HRA per month (Emolument shall be fixed as per suitability and experience of the candidate).
Duration: 1 year or up to the project completion date (project completion period three years).
Job Description:
- Project Fellow (ULH Turbine Development):
- Setting up of laboratory & design of ULH turbine.
- CFD simulation & carry out design and model test of ULH turbine.
- Analyzing the data and report preparation.
- Project Fellow (Hydro Kinetic Turbine Development):
- Setting up of laboratory & design of hydro kinetic turbine.
- CFD simulation & carry out design and model test of hydro kinetic turbine.
- Analyzing the data and report preparation.
- Project Fellow (CFD Guidelines Development):
- Carry out CFD simulation of Francis turbines for development of standard procedure and guidelines.
- Model testing and data analysis.
