Guest Faculty (Assistant Professor): Online applications are invited for the position of Assistant Professor (Guest Faculty) in the Department of Biotechnology, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The position is purely temporary for teaching B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology classes under CBCS during the Even Semester of the Academic Year 2024-25.

Eligibility/Qualification:
A good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) at the Master’s degree level in Biotechnology or an allied area from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
- A relaxation of 5% in marks is applicable for SC/ST/Physically and Visually Handicapped/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Ph.D. Degree holders (who obtained their Master’s degree before September 19, 1992).
Candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET.Candidates with a Ph.D. degree, as per UGC regulations, are exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement, subject to the following conditions:
- Ph.D. awarded in regular mode.
- Ph.D. thesis evaluated by at least two external examiners.
- Open Ph.D. viva-voce conducted.
- Two research papers published from Ph.D. work (at least one in a refereed journal).
- Two conference/seminar presentations based on Ph.D. work.
- These conditions must be certified by the Registrar/Dean (Academic Affairs).
Job Description:
- Teaching B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology courses under the CBCS system.
- Engaging students in lectures and practical sessions.
- Providing academic guidance and mentoring to students.
- Conducting assessments as per university norms.
Honorarium:
- ₹1500/- per lecture (with an upper limit of ₹50,000/- per month).
- Candidates availing JRF scholarships in the University are not entitled to the honorarium but will receive an experience certificate for their service as Guest Faculty.
