About- Established in 1971 and named as University of Cochin, it was the symbol of commitment from the Government of Kerala towards the new scientific policy resolution adopted by the Central Government on 4th March 1958. The new university’s birth was with the specific purpose of “development of higher education with particular emphasis on post-graduate studies and research in applied science, technology, industry and commerce”. The University of Cochin was later reorganized as Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).

Eligibility/Qualification–
Associate Professor (Marine Engineering):
- Essential:
- B.Tech in Marine / Mechanical Engineering / Naval Architecture.
- First Class Certificate of Competency (MEO Class-I C.O.C).
- Shall produce the TOTA / VICT course certificate upon joining.
- Experience: 12 years of relevant experience, out of which at least 2 years must be in the position of Chief Engineer Officer onboard merchant ships. (Full-time faculty experience in a DG Shipping approved Maritime Training Institute will be counted as equivalent to Chief Engineer experience).
- Desirable: M.Tech in Marine Engineering, AECS course certificate, and completion of the VICT course before joining duty.
Assistant Professor (Engineering Mathematics):
- Essential:
- Master’s degree in Mathematics with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) from an Indian University or accredited foreign university.
- National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC/CSIR or a similar accredited test (as per UGC Regulations 2018).
- OR Ph.D. in the concerned / allied / relevant disciplines.
- Desirable: B.Ed / M.Ed from a UGC-approved university, or TOTA/VICT certificate from a DG Shipping-approved Maritime Training Institute.
Job/Position Description-
Applications are invited in the prescribed format from qualified candidates for appointment to faculty positions on a Tenure Basis against anticipated vacancies at the Kunjali Marakkar School of Marine Engineering (KMSME), Cochin University of Science and Technology. The appointments carry an initial tenure period of five years subject to annual and three-year comprehensive reviews.

Deliver academic instruction, practical training, and curriculum support in the respective disciplines at KMSME.
Undertake research projects, co-supervise Ph.D. scholars (as per University regulations), and actively publish in UGC-approved/peer-reviewed journals.
Fulfill non-vacation departmental duties as required by KMSME regulations.
Participate in departmental evaluations and adhere to the formal service agreement executed with the University.
