Eligibility/Qualification–
Candidates having Ph. D. degree in Plant Sciences/Life Sciences and Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Plant Biotechnology(or equivalent subject) or an equivalent degree in any branch of Biological/Life Sciences are eligible to apply. Furthermore, Candidates with prior work experience in the area of stress biology with molecular biology techniques, such as-Gene cloning, protein interaction, and/or plant tissue culture techniques will be given preference.
Job/Position Description-
Walk-in-Interview on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. onwards for the posts of Research Associate-I and Research Associate- II.
Candidates are invited to appear before the selection committee in the walk-in-interview for filling up the purely temporary positions of chickpea and Research Associate-I and Research Associate – II (One each) in the Gates foundation funded project entitled “Development of climate resilient brassica by gene editing”, under the supervision of Dr. Niranjan Chakraborty, INSA Senior Scientist, NIPGR. The details of the position are as under:
Research Associate-I (one Post): Emoluments: Rs. 58000/- plus 27% HRA per month and Research Associate-II (one Post): Emoluments: Rs. 61000/- plus 27% HRA per month as per norms and as sanctioned in the project.
The Fellowship amount for the above position is at par with the similar fellowships by DBT/DST and the same shall be decided based on the relevant experience of the Candidate. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, which can be curtailed or extended based on the performance of the candidate and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The position may be terminated at any time by giving one-month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

Eligible candidates may appear for walk-in-interview at National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi – 110 067 on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 11: 00 a.m. along with the duly filled in application form in the prescribed format. The duly filled application form along with the educational, age and experience certificates etc. must be submitted at the time of registration at NIPGR from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on June 23, 2025. Any candidate reporting after 11:00 a.m. will not be entertained for walk-in-interview. The candidate must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data, copy of publications and Certificates etc. and original degree/experience certificates and transcripts for verification.
