Eligibility/Qualification: Applicants should hold or be close to obtaining a Ph.D. in a relevant field such as genetics, cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, or related areas. Key experience and competencies include hands-on experience with mouse genetic models, an interest in the lung epithelial stem cell field, proficiency in essential mammalian cellular/molecular biology techniques, and expertise in quantitative image processing and analysis. Knowledge of programming languages like R and Matlab is considered a plus. Candidates should have a track record of publishing research findings in high-impact scientific journals and presenting at international conferences. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential.

Job Description:

Postdoctoral Associate Position in Epithelial Stem Cell-Based Repair in the Alveolar Region of the Lung

The successful candidate will work on various research projects aimed at understanding alveolar epithelial cell repair in live mice. Projects may involve characterizing the emergence of transient progenitor populations, defining cell trajectories and gene regulatory networks, live imaging of individual alveolar stem cells, investigating alveolar stem cell-niche interactions, and exploring signaling pathways affecting alveolar stem cell migration. In addition to research responsibilities, the candidate will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) in laboratory operations, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and grant submissions. Some administrative tasks related to laboratory safety and supply management will also be required.

Training & Responsibilities: The Chioccioli lab is committed to providing mentorship and professional development opportunities. Trainees will have regular meetings with the PI, gaining technical skills, data presentation, and scientific writing abilities. The candidate will have access to cutting-edge imaging technologies, single-cell multi-omics approaches, and mouse models for lung injury.
