PhD Positions in Microscopic Particles and Lipid Monolayers, University of Bordeaux, France

Postdoc in France

PhD Positions in Microscopic Particles: The University of Bordeaux, in collaboration with the DFG-ANR agencies, is offering two exciting PhD positions under the ANR-DFG collaborative grant project APPOLLO. We are seeking two highly motivated PhD students to join our research teams in Bordeaux and Dusseldorf. This project aims to investigate the interaction between microscopic particles and lipid monolayers, focusing on adsorption, self-assembly, dynamics, and rheology. By conducting in-depth experiments, we intend to gain a profound understanding of how micropollutants affect the structure and behavior of lipid systems.

Job Description:

PhD Positions in Microscopic Particles and Lipid Monolayers

  • PhD1 will focus on the study of the adsorption, self-assembly, and passive dynamics of colloidal microparticles on lipid monolayers using in-situ and ex-situ characterization methods at the Centre Recherche Paul Pascal, University of Bordeaux.
  • PhD2 will investigate the rheological properties of lipid monolayers in the presence of passive and active microparticles, establishing links between microstructure and mechanical performance at the Institute of Experimental Colloidal Physics, Heinrich-Heine University Dusseldorf.
  • Both PhD candidates are expected to travel to partner institutions at least twice during their PhD for complementary experiments and knowledge exchange.

Offer:

  • A 36-month contract.
  • Access to state-of-the-art laboratories and shared facilities in Dusseldorf and Bordeaux.
  • Participation in collaborative and multidisciplinary international and European networks.
  • Competitive salary based on the French and German salary scales for PhD candidates.
