Research Associate / Research Assistant: Join our dynamic team at the Cambridge Baker Systems Genomics Initiative (CBSGI) and Cardiovascular Epidemiology Unit (CEU) for a postdoctoral position in biomedical data science. We are seeking a collaborative and self-motivated researcher with expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, and biostatistics. The role involves quantitative analysis of large-scale genomic and phenotypic data to explore the aetiology and prediction of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.

Eligibility/Qualification: Ph.D. (or equivalent experience), including those who have submitted but not yet received their Ph.D. Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a Ph.D. If the Ph.D. is pending, initial appointment will be as a Research Assistant, later amended to Research Associate upon Ph.D. completion (within 6 months of the start date).

Research Associate / Research Assistant – Biomedical Data Science
The primary responsibilities include:
- Leading projects involving quantitative analysis of genomic and phenotypic data.
- Utilizing polygenic scores, GWAS, Mendelian randomisation, and machine-learning techniques.
- Developing new research ideas and contributing to grant or fellowship applications.
- Potential research projects include developing polygenic scores, integrating multi-omics data, investigating demography-based heterogeneity, and exploring rare high penetrance variants.
- Full-time position available for up to 2 years with the possibility of extension.
