Job/Position Description- 

Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU), Kanpur has invited online applications for the recruitment of Assistant Professors (on Contract) under University Funded (UF) and Self Finance Scheme (SFS) programmes for the Academic Session 2026–27. Eligible candidates can apply online through the university website. Selection will be based on API score, Written Test (MCQ Type), and Interview.

Designation: Assistant Professor (On Contract)

Selected candidates will:

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
• Conduct academic, laboratory, and departmental activities.
• Participate in curriculum development and student mentoring.
• Assist in examination and evaluation work.
• Support departmental research and institutional initiatives.
• Perform duties assigned by the university administration.

Contract Period

University Funded Programme

• Initial appointment for 1 year
• Extendable up to 3 years based on satisfactory performance
• Or until direct recruitment/expiry of faculty lien, whichever is earlier

Self Finance Scheme

• Initial appointment for 3 years
• Extendable up to 5 years based on satisfactory performance

The appointment is purely contractual and does not confer any right to regular appointment.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of:

1. API Score Evaluation
2. Written Test (MCQ Type)
3. Interview (for shortlisted candidates)

Written Test Date: 19 July 2026
