About- Indian Institute of Petroleum & Energy (IIPE), an Institute of National Importance at par with IITs and IIMs and enacted by Parliament vide the Indian Institute of Petroleum & Energy Act, 2017 (No: 3 of 2018), requires faculty for its various academic units.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
The person should have submitted the PhD thesis / awarded PhD with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record and with / without experience.
- Ph.D. in one or more of the following specializations;
- Reservoir Engineering;
- Production Engineering;
- Carbon Capture,
- Utilization and Storage (CCUS);
- Data Science and Machine Learning with application to petroleum engineering;
B. Tech in Petroleum Engineering (Compulsory);
Job/Position Description–
- Period of Engagement: The period of engagement is One Year initially extendable up to two years.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaching: A visiting assistant professor is required to teach courses and conduct laboratory sessions as per the requirements of the Institute. Take seminars or participate in such other manner as may be deemed appropriate in teaching or research or industry – institute interaction work of the Institute.
- Research: A visiting assistant professor is desired to publish in peer-reviewed and reputed journals and / or internationally recognized conference proceedings and / or is anticipated to obtain research / consultancy projects from external funding agencies.
- Services: A visiting assistant professor is desired for the following services in the Institute:
(i). Active participation in the development and / or renovation of teaching / research laboratories.
(ii). Active participation in designing and developing new and relevant post- graduate and/or undergraduate courses.
(iii). Active participation in the promotion of teaching and research activities in the Institute by organizing and / or being an active member of committee to organize Continuing Education Programme (CEP) / Conferences / Workshops / Seminars / Symposiums / Academy-Industry Interaction / Open Day, etc.
(iv). Based on the need, a visiting assistant professor is expected to be actively involved in various duties for the continuous development of the Institute.
(v). He / She may act as co-supervisor for guiding PhD students / Masters students and can be CoPrincipal Investigator in extramural sponsored research / consultancy projects.
- Emoluments:
The consolidated emoluments to be fixed as decided by the Central Faculty Selection Committee (CFSC) and shall be offered as mentioned below:

| (c) | Visiting Assistant Professor Grade – II (Ph.D. with 01-02 years experience) | Rs. 95,000/- |
| (d) | Visiting Assistant Professor Grade – II (Ph.D. with up to 01 year experience) | Rs. 90,000/- |
| (e) | Visiting Assistant Professor Grade – II (Ph.D. thesis submitted) | Rs. 85,000/- |
Contingency Grant of Rs. 50,000/- per annum, similar to CPDA authorized to the regular faculty members of the Institute.
