Job Description

  • MS Student Responsibilities:
  • Investigate the effectiveness of fire risk reduction strategies in mixed-conifer forests in the Intermountain West.
  • Participate in teamwork skill development, extension activities, and mentoring training.
  • PhD Student Responsibilities:
  • Quantify and monitor the effects of management activities and silviculture treatments on forest structure and disturbance.
  • Investigate joint drivers of biotic and abiotic disturbances.
  • Engage in collaborative research with faculty advisors.

Expectations for All Students:

  • Maintain organized databases.
  • Contribute to collective projects and publish work in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Present research to diverse audiences including policymakers and landowners.
