PhD Scholarship in Advanced Computational Methodologies for Smart Multifunctional Composites

The project aims to address challenges in the computational modeling of smart multifunctional composites (MFCs) used in soft robotics, drug delivery, tactile sensors, and shape morphing. The research will involve the development of beam and shell finite elements to simulate complex interactions under extreme conditions, considering anisotropic, viscoelastic, transient, and multiphysical effects. Collaboration with national and international institutions is integral to the project.

Eligibility: Prospective candidates should have a first-class honors degree, a distinction at master’s level, or equivalent achievements in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mathematics. Essential attributes include experience in programming for finite element methods, competence in languages such as C, C++, Fortran, Python, MATLAB, or Julia, and basic knowledge of modeling and simulation technologies.
