Eligibility/Qualification–
- The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
- The applicant must have obtained Ph.D/M.D/M.S degree from a recognized University in Electrical Engineering and should have worked on the design and analysis of electric motors.
- Those who have submitted their PhD/M.D/M.S thesis and are awaiting award of the degree are also eligible to apply.
- However, such candidates, if selected, will be offered lower fellowship amount till they qualify the eligible degree.
Job Profile:
The project is about designing and manufacturing a Motor with a high Torque to weight ratio. The candidate should have done his Doctoral thesis in Electrical Engineering and should have worked on the design and analysis of electric motors. The candidate should have good command on simulations using Standard softwares like ANSYS-EMAG / MotorCAD etc. and CAD softwares like FUSION 360/SolidWorks/Catia for design of the stator and rotor of an electric motor using modern windings. Simulations to design light weight radial flux motors and Axial flux motors keeping in mind the objective of weight reduction, reduced torque ripple etc would be expected from the Candidate. The candidate must demonstrate these skills on a Computer and should have research publications in this subject in reputed refereed international Journals. You will also be expected to get involved in the design of coils to produce a strong magnetic field around metal injection moulding moulds to facilitate Injection moulding in the presence of a strong magnetic field to produce multipolar magnets.

Project title: WP 1.8 Lightweight Motor Parts for Electric Vehicles (E-RIDES)
About the project:
Project Aims at light weight construction of Electric Motors, esp. Axial Flux Motors, PMSM, BLDC, SRM etc. This refers to a high torque/weight ratio in motors. Simulations on ANSYS EMAG to design light weight radial flux motors and Axial flux motors keeping in mind the objective of weight reduction. Motor Torque to weight ratio has to be maximised. Doctorate in Electrical Engineering with good command on simulation and design of an electric motor.
The candidate should be able to use a CAD software like FUSION 360/SolidWorks/Catia for CAD design. The candidate must demonstrate these skills on a Computer and should have research publications in this subject in reputed refereed international Journals. Pay Details:
Rs. 80,000/- per month plus applicable HRA and Rs. 50,000/ per month plus applicable HRA for candidates who have submitted the thesis but PhD degree not awarded.
- The position is temporary for a period of 1 year and tenable only for the duration of the project. • The appointment is for time bound project and the candidate is required to work mainly for the successful completion of the project.
The selection committee may offer lower or higher designation and lower or higher salary depending upon the experience and performance of the candidate in the interview. •
