Research Area
The research focuses on the determination of the concentration and spatial distribution of (ultra)trace elements in materials of both biological and synthetic origin, specifically utilizing laser ablation – ICP-mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS).

Eligibility & Qualifications
- Education: A thesis-based doctorate (PhD) in “Chemistry,” with a focus on analytical chemistry.
- Technical Skills: Proven experience in spatially resolved elemental analysis using LA-ICP-MS, evidenced by publications in international scientific literature.
- Language: Fluency in English is required. Active knowledge of Dutch is considered an asset for communication with local clients and assisting with department-organized courses.
Job Description
- Conduct advanced research using LA-ICP-MS techniques.
- Contribute significantly to service activities, including conducting analyses for third-party clients using ICP-MS.
- Supervise and mentor less experienced researchers, including Bachelor’s/Master’s students, early-stage doctoral students, and visiting researchers.
- Disseminate findings through scientific papers, conference presentations, and professional reports for external customers.
