About- The Department of Space, Earth and Environment contains five divisions, with research and education spanning from global challenges related to sustainability and energy supply to astronomy and space sciences. The work is focused around experimental evaluation of oxygen carriers in continuous chemical-looping systems. During the project you will work in a creative research group that is world leading in its field, has extensive experience of practical research and access to unique experimental infrastructure. The goal is to find effective and affordable oxygen carries that can be used to increase the efficiency of the applications described above. The overall goal of our group is to develop revolutionary technology for efficient generation of power, heat and hydrogen with inherent carbon dioxide capture.

Project Title – Energy technology on chemical-looping combustion
Location- Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden
Eligibility/Qualification– By the starting date, the applicant should have a PhD degree in a relevant subject, such as for example chemical engineering, power engineering, mechanical engineering, etc. Knowledge about chemical-looping combustion and fluidization – both experimental and theoretical – are mandatory.
You are expected to be somewhat accustomed to teaching, and to demonstrate good potential within research and education.
Job/Position Description- Your main responsibility as a postdoc is to pursue your own scientific studies and to develop your abilities and knowledge within the research fields covered by the project. You are expected to develop your own scientific concepts and communicate the results of your research verbally at scientific conferences and in written journal articles.
The position may also include supervising master’s and/or PhD students to a certain extent. Another important aspect involves collaboration within academia and with society at large. The position is meritorious for future research duties within academia as well as industry/the public sector.
Full-time temporary employment. The position is limited to a maximum of two years (1+1) and is funded by the Swedish Research Council.
