About-Â Research group is seeking to hire a highly-motivated *Postdoctoral Researcher *to investigate how interactions between species and their environment shape how microbial communities respond to environmental changes. In our lab we combine diverse approaches such as experimental evolution on synthetic communities, whole genome sequencing, single-cell biology and mathematical modelling to formulate hypotheses that can be tested with experiments. Eligibility/Qualification–
The successful candidate will have a substantial degree of independence and will have opportunities to pursue their own research interests in *microbial evolutionary ecology*.
The successful candidate will have a PhD. in the following or related fields: microbial ecology, evolutionary genetics, genomics, molecular microbiology, computational biology.
Expertise in microbial experimental evolution, high-throughput sequencing and/or quantitative skills are highly desired.
Job/Position Description- The position is available as of summer 2019. The successful candidate will join the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and the Center for Evolutionary Genetics at UCI.
The department is part of the Network of Experimental Research on Evolution (NERE) and the UCI Microbiome Initiative, providing exciting networking opportunities.
