Eligibility/Qualification–
- A PhD degree or equivalent in Molecular Biology
- Expertise in cell culture is required, with experience in cancer biology is desirable.
- A publication record in peer-reviewed journals
- Interpersonal skills required to supervise junior members of the research group
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
Job/Position Description-
A post-doctoral position is available in the RNA and Immunity Research Group, under the supervision of Prof. Mary O’Connell whose group studies the biological roles of ADARs, the RNA editing enzymes https://www.ceitec.eu/era-chair-rna-and-immunity/rg112.
The research project will investigate the connection between ADAR1 and cancer, in particular links with p53 and the potential of RNA editing to affect particular cancer treatments.
This project is a collaborative funded project with the Polish group of Dr. Małgorzata Kurkowiak/Prof. Ted Hupp (ICCVS, Gdańsk University) who will assist in bioinformatic analysis. For more information on this project please contact Mary.OConnell@ceitec.muni.cz.
