Eligibility/Qualification
- For Postdoctoral Fellow:
- PhD in Soil Science, Plant Science, Microbiology, Genomics, Bioinformatics, or a closely related field.
- Strong publication record.
- Must meet UBC postdoctoral eligibility requirements.
- For Research Assistant/Technician 4:
- Relevant graduate-level training and/or substantial experience in microbiome research, molecular biology, bioinformatics, or soil science.
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct field, laboratory, and analytical work related to soil microbiome analysis.
- Lead and coordinate research projects, including defining methodologies and collaborating with external partners.
- Manage sample collection, processing, and analysis.
- Perform molecular lab workflows including DNA extraction, PCR, and sequencing.
- Analyze sequencing data with bioinformatics tools.
- Maintain project records and metadata.
- Contribute to reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
- Support and mentor involved undergraduate and graduate students.
- Collaborate with community partners and land stewards.
- Pursue creative research aligned with lab goals.
