Postdoctoral Research Associate in USA: The Chow Lab in the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research associate to join our team and develop precision medicine approaches for rare diseases.

Designation: Postdoctoral Research Associate

Research Area: Developing precision medicine approaches for rare diseases, with a focus on identifying modifier genes and therapeutic small molecules for personalized therapies.

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Eligibility/Qualification: Ph.D. in genetics, cell biology, pharmacology, or related field.

Desired qualifications include experience with Drosophila, drug screens, cell biology or biochemistry, and programming (e.g, R).

Job Description:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and drive projects focused on identifying modifier genes and therapeutic small molecules for personalized therapies for rare diseases such as NGLY1 deficiency, PIGA deficiency, DPAGT1 deficiency, retinitis pigmentosa, and others. The projects range from full computational to full wet lab to a mixture of both. There will also be opportunities to develop independent projects aligning with the broad goals of the Chow Lab. Collaboration with patient advocacy groups, industry, clinicians, and genetic counselors is encouraged.
