Eligibility/Qualification

  • Doctoral degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, systems biology, computer science, or a related field (degree must be obtained by the employment decision date).
  • Experience with constraint-based genome-scale modeling and resource allocation modeling.
  • Proficiency in machine learning methods and applications in biological data analysis.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, including building software systems.
  • Familiarity with omics data analysis (transcriptomics, proteomics, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary setting.

Preferred Experience

  • Enzyme-constrained or proteome-constrained metabolic models.
  • Familiarity with large language model APIs and frameworks.
  • Experience in developing agentic LLM systems and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
  • Background in metabolic engineering or industrial biotechnology.

Job Description

  • Apply and extend computational models of metabolism to interpret multi-omics datasets.
  • Develop software tools for programmatic interaction between large language model agents and metabolic models.
  • Design and implement agentic systems for autonomous omics data analysis.
  • Build RAG pipelines over scientific literature to assist in hypothesis generation.
  • Publish findings in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.
  • Supervise master’s/PhD students and engage in teaching.
