Eligibility/Qualification–

Candidates with a background in electrochemical energy conversion systems, including catalyst synthesis, characterization, design and build electrochemical systems.  

  • Demonstrated solid background in electrochemical CO2 conversion system
  • Ability to develop independent research projects through publication of peer-reviewed literature 
  • Synthesize and characterize new catalyst materials 
  • Design and build electrochemical cells for energy conversion reactions 
  • Work closely with project team members across disciplines to deliver timely results.
  • Pursue independent (but complementary) research interests and interact with a broad spectrum of scientists internally and externally.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including grant writing

Job/Position Description- Kibria group is currently working on the development of highly active catalyst and high throughput systems for renewable fuel synthesis. We are currently developing nanostructured electro- and photo-catalyst materials and systems for CO2 conversion into high-value products, including long-chain hydrocarbons and oxygenates.

The Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREF) at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in Global Research Initiative (GRI) in Electrochemical CO2 Conversion.

Area: Global Research Initiative (GRI) in Sustainable Low Carbon Unconventional Resources

Duration: One year with the possibility of Extension

Start Date: Immediate

Salary: $55,000 per year plus Plan C Health Insurance Benefits
