About- Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST) is a premier scientific research organization in the north-east region, conceived and nurtured by the Assam Science Society in its initial years and was inaugurated by Nobel Laureate Dorothy C. Hodgkin on 3rd November 1979. Subsequently, it was supported by the state govt. as its only autonomous R&D institute till March 2009. The institute was taken over in March 2009 by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt of India as one of its autonomous R&D institutes. Project Scientist Position at IASST
Research/Job Area- Any branch of Life Science and Chemistry
Location- Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), Guwahati (Assam)
Eligibility/Qualification–
For position 1:
Master’s degree in any branch of Life Sciences with a good academic record throughout the career. Candidate should be PhD and have a minimum of three (03) first-author research publications from the Ph.D. work in peer-reviewed journals.
Experience: Minimum four (04) years of post-doctoral experience in Research and Development in Industrial or Academic Institutions on Sericulture.
For position 2:
Master’s degree in Chemistry with a good academic record throughout the career. The candidate should be Ph.D in organic chemistry/synthetic chemistry and have at least three (03) first-author research publications from the Ph.D. work in peer-reviewed journals.
Experience: Minimum four (04) years of post-doctoral experience in Research and Development in Industrial or Academic Institutions on synthetic organic chemistry with particular reference to synthesis of small molecular inhibitors/drugs.
Age limit: 45 year
Job/Position Description-
Advanced Study in Science and Technology, an Autonomous Institute under the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, invites applications from well-qualified Indian nationals for contractual scientist positions at the level of Project Scientist in the Life Science Division and Interdisciplinary Research Centre of IASST. These positions are temporary, initially for one year, which may be extended.
Monthly emolument: Rs 67,000 to 78,000 (depending on the experience) + applicable HRA at Guwahati. The selected candidate will be entitled to medical benefits and leave per the IASST policy. However, they will not be allowed to bonuses, gratuity, or leave travel concessions.
