Research/Job Area- 

Candidates are expected to have teaching and research expertise in one of the following priority disciplines:

• Computer Science: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Computer Vision (CV), Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Image Analysis, Cyber Security, Cryptography, Data Science, and IoT.
• Chemistry: Electrochemistry and Chemical Biology.
• Earth & Climate Sciences: Atmospheric Science, Climate Modelling, and Oceanography/Ocean Modelling.
• Economics & Statistics: Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Econometrics, Mechanism Design, Game Theory, Applied/Agriculture/Environment Economics, Probability, and Biostatistics.
• Physics: Condensed Matter, High Energy Physics, Gravitation, Cosmology & Gravitational Waves, Quantum Information/Computation, Quantum Optics, Quantum Magnetism, Complex Systems, and Biophysics of Imaging.
• Plant Sciences: Plant Pathology, Plant Tissue Culture, Plant Biotechnology, Plant Breeding, and Plant Microbiology.

Eligibility/Qualification–

• Professor: Requires a PhD with a first-class in the preceding degree and a very good academic record. Applicants must have a minimum of ten years of relevant post-PhD research and teaching experience from India or abroad. At least four of these years must be at the Associate Professor level from Institutes of Eminence or National Importance (e.g., IITs, IISc, IIMs, Central Universities, etc.). A proven track record of outstanding research and leadership skills is mandatory.
• Assistant Professor: Requires a PhD with a first-class in the preceding degree and a very good academic record. Applicants must possess at least three years of relevant post-PhD experience in teaching, research, or industry.

Job/Position Description- 

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati, a premier Autonomous Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, is inviting online applications for faculty positions. The institute is seeking highly qualified Indian nationals, including Persons of Indian Origins (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) who possess an excellent academic record and relevant work experience. Successful candidates will contribute to high-quality science education and independent research across various scientific disciplines.

Designations Available

• Professor (Academic Pay Level-14A)
• Assistant Professor (Academic Pay Level-12)

Selected candidates will be responsible for teaching basic and advanced courses within their respective disciplines at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Faculty members are expected to conduct high-impact independent research, establish a laboratory (a startup grant will be provided), and guide Ph.D./M.S. students. Additionally, candidates are expected to actively seek and secure external grants from government and non-government sponsoring agencies to fund their research initiatives.
