Tezpur University, Assam invites applications for Regular Teaching Positions from eligible and interested candidates

About-Tezpur University was established by an Act of Parliament in 1994. The objects of this Central University as envisaged in the statutes are that it shall strive to offer employment oriented and interdisciplinary courses to meet the local and regional aspirations and the development needs of the state of Assam and also offer courses and promote research in areas which are of special and direct relevance to the region and in emerging areas in Science and Technology. Eligibility/Qualification–

The essential academic qualifications and other requirements shall be as per the UGC Regulations, 2018 Dated 18 July, 2018 and NCTE Regulations, 2019 Dated 1St March, 2019.

ProfessorPh.D. degree in relevant field (detailed below separately) and First Class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the relevant branch (detailed below separately) ANDMinimum of ten (10) years of experience in teaching / research / industry out of which at least three (03) years shall be at a post equivalent to that of an Associate Professor ANDAt least six (06) research publications at the level of Associate professor in SCI journals / UGC / AICTE approved list of journals and at least two (02) successful Ph.D. guided as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor till the date of eligibility of promotion OR At least ten (10) research publications at the level of Associate professor in SCI journals / UGC / AICTE approved list of journals till the date of eligibility of promotion

B.E. / B.Tech. / B.S. and M.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. or Integrated M.Tech. in relevant branch
(detailed below separately) with first class or equivalent in any one of the degrees. For Design:
Bachelor’s degree in Design / any branch of Engineering & Technology with First Class or equivalent and Master’s Degree in Design with First Class or equivalent.
The Academic score as specified under UGC Regulations, 2018, in Appendix II (Table 3A) for Universities, shall be considered for short-listing of candidates for interview only, and the selections shall be based only on the performance in the interview including a pre-i.nterview presentation.
NOTE: Existing incumbents recruited as a faculty with the basic minimum qualifications such as M. Sc. (Mathematics), M.Sc. (Biotechnology), M.Sc. (Electronics), M.Sc. (Computer Science & allied subjects), M.Sc. (Physics), M.Sc. (Chemistry), MCA, PGDM, AMIE / M. Corn. and any other similar qualifications which were considered eligible at the time of recruitment or taken admission in such courses before publication of the AICTE Gazette dated 13th march 2010 shall be considered as eligible, subject to fulfilment of other eligibility criteria and higher qualifications as prescribed, if any, for various teaching positions. This is as per the Clause 7.5 of the AICTE Regulations 2019, published vide Gazette Notification No. 82 Dt. 01.03.2019.

  • Professor: Academic Level 14 with Rationalised Entry Pay of Rs. 1,44,200/-(Pre-revised PB-4: Rs. 37,400-67,000/- plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 10,000/-)
  • Associate Professor: Academic Level 13A with Rationalised Entry Pay of Rs. 1,31,400/­(Pre-revised PB-4: Rs. 37,400-67,000/- plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 9,000/)
  • Assistant Professor: Academic Level 10 with Rationalised Entry Pay of Rs. 57,700/-(Pre-revised PB-3: Rs. 15,600-39,100/- plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6,000/)
