Co-ordinator: Dr. Niket S Kaisare and Dr. Jithin John Varghese, Department of Chemical Engineering. Duration: Initially for 6 months, later extendable based on the performance.

Project Scientist – I	Rs. 56,000/- plus 30% HRA Per month

Job Description:

The overall objective of the proposal is to utilize a workflow combining multiscale modelling and detailed reactor experiments to identify a combination of conditions and catalysts that enable optimum operation of methanol synthesis reaction with CO2 rich feed.

The job scope for this position will include (but not be restricted to) surveying and summarising the literature, performing molecular simulations, contributing to scientific communication in the form of journal articles, technical reports and so on. The candidate is expected to have expertise in carrying our Density Functional Theory simulations of complex reaction networks with experience in plotting the energy landscape of the reaction network. Preliminary exposure to first principles microkinetic modelling of reactions is expected. Experience in machine learned interatomic potential development to perform simulations of reaction networks will be considered an advantage.
