About- The BITS BioCyTiH Foundation (henceforth “The Foundation”) is a Section 8 non-profit company hosted by BITS Pilani under the National Mission of Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) of the Government of India (GOI). The mandate of the company is to fashion a platform that would foster translational research, innovation, skill development and training in areas of bio-cyber-physical systems (Bio-CPS) related to healthcare, agriculture, water, and the environment. The aim is to build state-of-the-art national facilities across three campuses of BITS Pilani (viz. Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad), and extend support to researchers, innovators and startups building products and solutions. As part of the infrastructure, a Bio-CPS-focused incubator is planned to be built and operationalized which will house innovators and startups. Additionally, the Foundation will establish national and international partnerships and create a network of aligned organizations. Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential: Candidates with PhD / MD / MS / MDS (Computational Neuroscience / Neurobiology / Brain Computer Interface / Machine Learning / Biomedical Engineering / Biomedical Signal Processing / EEG data analysis) or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research in teaching, design and development experience after M.Sc / MPharm / ME / M.Tech (Computer Science/ Information Technology/Cognitive Science or Electronics & Instrumentation) with First class (60% marks) and at least 1 research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal
Desirable:
- Knowledge and experience in the literature review (Systematic, Meta-analysis, or Scoping Review).
- Ability to weave evidence to support arguments/claims.
- Good with Documentation (Latex) and Fluent English Communication (Written and Verbal).
- Ability to work and think independently.
- Knowledge in conducting and designing experiments, data collection and data management.
- Data Analysis and Statistical Inference Basics

- 47000/-p.m. + applicable HRA for candidates with thesis submitted
- 49000/-p.m. + applicable HRA for candidates with Ph. D degree awarded

Project Title & Details: Mobile/Web and AR-VR Based Cognition Tracking, Analysis and Rehabilitation for healthy and cognitively impaired people.
Details: Cognitive impairment (mild, moderate and severe) is rapidly growing worldwide, however, there is no pharmacological cure for the same at the moment. Research has established that rehabilitation and early detection of cognitive impairment can minimize the progress of the impairment and also aid in maintaining cognitive abilities to live independently. Technology has a huge role in contributing to rehabilitation and early detection. Through our project we wish to develop a theoretical framework which can potentially gauge the cognitive performance of a person across the life course, and then develop a product that translates this framework into action.
Job Description and Responsibilities
Study and assesses the lifestyle of people across different age groups and measures their cognitive performance in different domains: A mixed method approach and proof-of-concept development for cognition tracker.
The admitted scholar will be responsible for:
- Performing literature review on existing techniques for tracking cognition over time.
- Collecting, managing, coding the data of subjects during experiment duration.
- Reviewing the data analysis and interpretation.
- Development of prototype for tracking cognition.
