Eligibility/Qualification–
A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field is required.
The applicant must have or obtain the degree before the starting date of the appointment.
Job/Position Description- ISSP is seeking candidates for a research associate position in the Lippmaa laboratory of the Nanoscale Science Division. The research associate is expected to support research on oxide thin film growth by pulsed laser deposition, new materials development, thin film property analysis, analysis of oxide surfaces by scanning probe or ion scattering techniques, and thin film device fabrication for materials property analysis. Possible areas of research are related to
nonequilibrium carrier dynamics in photocatalysts, low-dimensional electronic states at heterointerfaces, control of spin order in magnetic oxides, synthesis of epitaxial oxide nanostructures, using AI to develop advanced thin film synthesis techniques, etc.
Candidates with experience in various oxide-related fields are welcome. The successful candidate is expected to be strongly motivated to develop new research directions that are based on epitaxial oxide thin films but utilize various unique facilities available at ISSP and promote internal or external collaborations within the ISSP joint-research program.
The initial appointment is for five years that may be extended by five more years after performance review.
The successful candidate is expected to join ISSP as soon as possible after selection.
