Eligibility/Qualification–

Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related disciplines.

  • Proven experience in quantum photonics, integrated photonic devices, nanophotonics, or quantumoptics.
  • Strong background in numerical modeling (FDTD, FEM) and experimental optics.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills; publications in top-tier journals preferred.

Job Profile:

  • Design and simulation of integrated photonic circuits for quantum information applications.
  • Experimental implementation and characterization of photonic qubits.
  • Coordination with materials and fabrication teams across partner institutions.
  • Drafting high-impact publications and contributing to project reports.
  • Mentoring junior team members, including PhD students and interns.

About the project:

Location: Laboratory of Optics of Quantum Materials (LOQM), IIT Bombay

The Laboratory of Optics of Quantum Materials (LOQM), led by Prof. Anshuman Kumar at IIT Bombay, is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position as part of a flagship project under the National Quantum Mission (NQM). This cutting-edge project aims to realize scalable and reconfigurable photonic qubit platforms using both heterogeneous integration and monolithic approaches—paving the way for next-generation quantum computing architectures.

Pay Details: Consolidated salary Rs.58000/- p.m. + HRA

General information:

The position is temporary for a period of 1 year and tenable only for the duration of the project. The appointment is for time bound project and the candidate is required to work mainly for the successful completion of the project. The selection committee may offer lower or higher designation and lower or higher salary depending upon the experience and performance of the candidate in the interview.
