About- The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu was inaugurated on 6th August 2016, and welcomed the first batch of students into the campus in Paloura, Jammu. In the initial phases, the establishment of IIT Jammu was done under the mentorship of IIT Delhi.

Research/Job Area-

IIT Jammu would like to invest in people having experience in core as well as interdisciplinary domains with strong hands-on experience with an emphasis on emerging areas of experiential and project-based learning leading to translational research. Eligibility/Qualification–

Essential Qualifications Required For Positions Listed In Table I & II: –

Ph.D. in a relevant area with first class or equivalent in the preceding degrees with throughout consistently good academic record.

Experience:-

Professor: Minimum ten years Teaching, Research, Industrial experience of which at least four years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs or in similar institutes of national importance or at an equivalent level in any other Indian or foreign institutions of comparable standards as may be so decided by the Institute. The candidate should have demonstrated leadership in research in a specific area of specialization in terms of guidance of Ph.D. students, strong record of publications in reputed journals and conferences, patents, laboratory, course development, sponsored research projects and, or other recognized professional activities.
Associate Professor: A minimum of six years Teaching, Industry, Research experience, of which at least three years should be at the level of Assistant Professor in an academic institution. The candidate should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent research in terms of guidance of M.Tech and Ph.D. students, strong record of publications in reputed journals, patents, laboratory, course development, sponsored research projects and , or other recognized relevant professional activities.
Assistant Professor Grade-I: A minimum of 3 years relevant industrial, research, teaching experience, excluding however, the experience gained while pursing Ph.D. Applicant should have demonstrated research capabilities in terms of publications in reputed journals. Applicants preferably should be below 35 years of age.
Assistant Professor Grade II: Applicants satisfying all criteria other than the post Ph.D. experience criteria for Assistant Professor Grade I , may be appointed as Assistant Professor Grade II with appropriate pay based on post- doctoral experience.
Visiting Professor (contract or on deputation), Retired Professors (on contract): Individuals working or retired from CFTIs may be appointed on contract or on deputation as applicable. The applicant is expected to have proven teaching, research and leadership record. Retired Professors from other CFTIs shall be expected to provide enthusiastic mentorship to young faculty and staff members in policy formulation and also for adoption of best practices.

Qualified Persons include: –

Indian Nationals (Institute specifically encourages applicants from SC, ST, OBC category as well as persons with disability to apply for these positions),
Foreign Nationals, who are “Persons of Indian Origin” (PIO) or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI); in whose case, if selected, permission will be sought from the Govt. of India before she or he can join IIT Jammu.
Other Foreign Nationals (not covered in (b)), in whose case, if selected, appointment will be on a contract basis for up to 5 years subject to permission from the Govt. of India before she or he can join IIT Jammu.

Job/Position Description-

IIT Jammu invites applications from energetic meritorious qualified Indian Nationals, Persons of Indian Origins (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) and Foreign Nationals having passion for teaching and research for the following faculty positions at the level of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Visiting Professor (contract and deputation), Retired Professors (on contract), for its various academic programs in different disciplines.

Professor	Academic Pay Level 14 A ( Rs. 159100-220200) with minimum basic pay of Rs. 159100/- per month
Associate Professor	Academic Pay Level 13A2 (Rs. 139600-211300) with minimum basic pay of Rs.1,39,600/- per month
**Assistant Professor Grade -I	Academic Pay Level 12 (Rs. 101500-167400) with minimum basic pay of Rs. 1,01,500/- per month
*Assistant Professor Grade -II	At entry level, may be placed in Academic Pay level 10 (Rs. 57700- 98200) with minimum basic pay of Rs. 70900/- per month and shall be moved to Academic Level 11 after completion of one year post Ph.D experience.

Post	Scale of Pay
Visiting Professor (contract or on deputation), Retired Professors (on contract) from CFTIs	IIT Jammu shall be able to provide the best possible remunerations and support as per the regulations of the Institute.
