Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in engineering, mathematics, physics, materials science, or closely-related disciplines.
- Experience in at least one of the following: Finite element analysis, Multi-physics modelling, ABAQUS or COMSOL, Fracture Mechanics, Phase field models, Computational Mechanics.
Job Description: The successful candidate will conduct finite element simulations to understand material-environment interactions, focusing on the structural integrity behavior of offshore wind turbines. The role involves using commercial finite element packages (e.g., COMSOL, ABAQUS) as well as in-house or open-source codes (e.g., FEniCS, MOOSE). Collaborative work, research group activities, publication submissions, and liaison with academic collaborators and sponsors are also expected. The initial appointment is for one year with potential extension opportunities based on performance and funding availability.
