Postdoctoral Associate: Department of Biology: Join the Department of Biology at the University of York as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Parasite Biology. Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Protein Biochemistry, or related area
- Knowledge of proteomic methods
- Experience in cutting-edge proteomic techniques and analysis
- Desirable: Skills and experience in gene editing
- Desirable: Experience in cell culture and handling of class 2 pathogens
- Competency to conduct individual and collaborative research projects
Job Description:
As a Postdoctoral Research Associate, you will:
- Conduct laboratory-based research on Leishmania mexicana, focusing on sensory mechanisms in response to pH and temperature changes.
- Utilize large-scale screens and proteomic techniques to identify protein kinases involved in parasite signaling pathways.
- Employ molecular techniques such as western blotting, microscopy, and phenotypic assays to interrogate parasite signaling pathways.
- Collaborate with a team of parasite biologists within the York Biomedical Research Institute.
- Contribute to a supportive and collaborative research environment within the Department of Biology.
