Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in bioengineering, biotechnology, or related fields
  • Experience with microfluidics, advanced in vitro models, transport across endothelial barriers, and viral vectors
  • Proficiency in optical microscopy, molecular biology techniques, and NGS technologies is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills in English (oral and written)
  • Proactive and self-driven attitude
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment

Job Description

The Postdoc will:

  • Develop new in vitro models of the human and mouse blood-brain barrier
  • Benchmark these models for preclinical and clinical investigations
  • Collaborate with Novartis researchers to test the models for expediting candidate therapeutics selection, especially for gene therapy
  • Work at the intersection of academic and industrial research with access to resources from both institutions
